Giving Thanks
I hope everyone is enjoying a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday. I took a few days away from the computer to spend time with family, eat turkey, and watch football.
I wanted to take this time to thank all of you who visit the site, and especially to those of you who have sent me comments and suggestions for it. I appreciate your thoughts and input, and have a page-long wish list of things I’ll be adding and updating in the coming months. Comments are ALWAYS welcome.
Thanks also to those businesses over in the right-hand sidebar. They help cover my expenses and allow me the time to keep up with what’s going on in Weaverville. Please support them and all our local businesses this holiday season.
Thanks again for your support,
Anne-Marie
Thank a U.S. Soldier this Thanksgiving
I got this in my e-mail box yesterday and thought I’d give it a little more publicity. I just sent a couple cards and hope you will consider doing the same:
If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com, you can pick out a thank you card, Xerox will print it, and it will be sent to a soldier that is serving in Iraq. You can’t pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.
This is a great site. Please send a card. It is FREE and it only takes a second.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our guys and gals over there need to know we are behind them.
Italian Cooking Classes
I just learned about Weaverville resident Wally Maria Mazzucco Wyatt, who teaches Italian cooking classes in her home. The Weaverville Tribune did an article about her back in March (which you can read here – it’s on page 12). She’s offering classes on Saturdays in December. They vary in length but on average last 3 hours, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., and cost $50.
- December 1: Tuscany menu
- December 8: Veneto menu
- December 15: Friuli menu
- December 22: Emilia Romagna menu
Wyatt also teaches Italian language classes. For more information or to register for any of her classes, visit her website at www.discoveritalian.com.
Yoga at Bochicchio Chiropractic Center
Every Monday, Adam Laufer offers a lyengar-style yoga class 5:30-6:45 p.m. at the Bochicchio Chiropractic Center. Classes are $10 and pre-registration is not required. For information, call 658-0830.
Bochicchio Chiropractic Center is located at 289 Merrimon Avenue (on the corner of Reems Creek Road and Merrimon Avenue).
Pet Pantry Opening Nov. 20
Weaverville Pet Pantry will officially be open for business beginning Tuesday, November 20. I stopped by last week and they have quite a large selection of pet food, treats, toys, supplies, and other accessories. They are located at 10 Garrison Branch Road (at the intersection of 25/70 and Monticello Road).
