Here’s some of the festivities planned around Weaverville this Saturday for Independence Day:

No fireworks in Weaverville this year. If you’re looking for fireworks, try Barnardsville. Their July 4th celebration starts at 2 p.m. at the Big Ivy Community Center

All I know is the festival organizer has repeatedly told me the County would not give him a permit to have fireworks. If there’s some other fireworks display planned for the area, no one has let me know about it, and there’s nothing mentioned in the Tribune either. I guess we’ll find out for sure Saturday night.
